Storage Wars is a reality TV series that deals with abandoned storage lockers in storage facilities across America. When these lockers are not paid for three months in California, the facilities can put the contents up for auction. Bidders are welcome to look at the contents just for 5 minutes and then they start the bidding process.

Buyers hope to make money by finding valuables such as antiques. Most of the bidding is cash-only. Storage Wars has a great cast of characters who are filmed during the bidding process. Some of the main characters are seen in most of the episodes and some show up for special ones. Here’s a look at these characters and their real lives.

Dan & Laura Dotson (57 & 51, Married)

Dan Dotson is the auctioneer for American Auctioneers, the company he runs with his wife Laura. Dan was born on November 23, 1962, and is aged 57. Being in the auctioneering business from the age of 11, Dan knows the business inside-out.

His company is located in Riverside, California. Dan is famous for his auction chant which gives a very entertaining twist to the reality show. Laura was born on May 13, 1968, and is aged 51. She is the ringleader and helps Dan with the auctions. She too has learned the ropes of auctioneering and has a distinct chant as well.

Jarrod Schulz & Brandi Passante (41 & 39, Currently Separated)

Jarrod Schulz is a high-spirited businessman who owns Now and Then Second Hand Store with his common-law partner Brandi Passante. Jarrod was born on 15th October 1977. They have two kids and they live in Lake Forest, California. Jarrod loves to take risks in his bidding and Brandi is there to check on him. They form a great partnership and have spearheaded the success of their business. They are in the process of buying a new second-hand store and renovating it. Brandi is the sexy and smart counterpart in this venture and she has a mind of her own. Together they have been successful on the reality TV show.

Dave Hester (55, Married)

Dave Hester is a seasoned bidder. He was born on July 23, 1964, and is aged 55 years. Dave’s thrift shop is called Rags to Riches and this is one business he has handled with a lot of success. He is married to Donna Hester and has a son Dave Hester, Jr. Dave’s successful bidding on the reality TV show is something everyone loves to see. His “Yuuuuuup” is a great bid belt that has made him famous among his fans. Dave Hester is a big game bidder who is serious about his work, and this shows in the way he places bids and handles potential competitors.

Darrell Sheets (61, Engaged)

Darrell Sheets is another famous bidder on Storage Wars who comes along with his son, Brandon. Darrell was born on May 13, 1958, and is aged 61 years. His idea of bidding is usually like gambling and this is one way in which he deals. He loves to play the high-stakes and has been doing so for almost 32 years. His aggressive stance while filming Storage Wars is legendary. We love to see his antics and the manner in which he takes care of competitors. He hopes to pass on the baton to his son and has been teaching him the ropes.

Ivy Calvin

This King of Palmdale is all about business. Ivy Calvin was born on 10 September 1971 in California. He is loud and open while conducting his business and his character on Storage Wars is quite entertaining. His store is called Grandma’s Attic where he has several loyal customers.

His looks are what set him apart. He was an MMA fighter as well as a football player. He is married to Wendy Calvin and they have two sons, Ivy and Isaiah. Ivy Calvin has made a name for himself in this thrift store business and handles himself very well. You will find Ivy on Twitter, where he tweets regularly.

Rene & Casey Nezhoda (42 & 43, Married)

The Bargain Hunters thrift store owners are a power couple who make Storage Wars entertaining. Rene and Casey now live in San Diego. Rene was born in Germany on 5th April 1977 and then moved to the US in 1990. His German accent is something you will notice during the Storage Wars shows. His wife Casey is always with him during these shows and lends a helping hand to the bidding process. They have a daughter Tatiana. Rene and Casey are the only other couple who feature in the Storage Wars series along with Jarrod Schulz and Brandi Passante.

Barry Weiss (68, Divorced)

Barry Weiss is a character like no other. His antics and bidding style are completely unique and entertaining. He brings the show to life with his style. Barry was born on 11th February 1959 in New Jersey. He is divorced and has two children Julie and Jack. His grandson Oliver is a cute little addition to the family. Barry is a huge lover of cars that include a 1946 Cadillac and a Cowboy Cadillac. He is clearly a very successful businessman as he has a lot of wealth, property and antique cars. His love for the finer things in life is evident through his collection that is shown during Storage Wars.

Emily Wears (29, Married)

Emily Wears is another entrant on the Storage Wars scene and is an auctioneer. She was born in Iowa in 1990. Her father, Brent Wears, is a seasoned auctioneer who taught his daughter the ropes of the business. She married Cody Kroul on 6th May 2017. Emily is also a musician who is able to play the guitar and the mandolin. She won the International Auctioneer Champion award in 2018. Emily is a talented auctioneer who brings a great deal of sophistication to the game. With a business mind and a trained background, Emily Wears has a fresh approach to the bidding scene.

Shana Dahan (39, Married)

Shana Dahan is a great bidder who loves to be on Storage Wars. She was born on 23rd January 1980 and is Jewish. She is married to Adam Kilbourn who is an actor by profession. They have no kids but adorable pet Labradors. Shana manages her business with her partner Edwina Registre. Though the two are newcomers on the show, they have managed to make a name for themselves. They have a blog too that brings out their other love, fashion. Shana is quick to learn new things and this helps in her business deals and bidding wars with the other competitors.

Edwina Registre (41, Married)

Edwina Registre is the other half of the business partnership with Shana Dahan. She was born on 12th October 1978 in Illinois. She studied at Phoenix University and got a degree in Criminal Justice Science. She is married and lives in Las Vegas. Edwina and Shana started Thrifters Anonymous and together they have helped their business succeed. With the blog that they own, the two have a great time dealing with fashion as well as their thrift store. Edwina loves her exercise routine and keeps herself fit. Edwina, along with Shana brings freshness to the Storage Wars series and is much loved by their fans.
